class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Despite lacking a formal art education, Sabina Janicka &#8211; a Polish gamic creator who signs her works under the name of Menaria &#8211; has become an influential figure within the Source Filmmaker (SFM) community. Her works have frequently been featured in community sites, and prompted the formation of fan groups around her own comic characters. Sabina has been interested in comic creation from a young age, because \u2018there was simply something very appealing in the ability to present someone with a story the way I would like it to be seen\u2019. She got her chance to do this when her comic series <a href=\"https:\/\/www.deviantart.com\/menaria\/art\/Strict-Soldier-s-guide-for-MvM-Intro-387131098\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Strict Soldier Guide for MvM <\/em><\/a>(2013-2016) gained popularity. The original purpose of the series was to teach players in a humorous way about \u2018Mann vs. Machine\u2019, a co-operative game mode for <em>Team Fortress 2<\/em> (2007) introduced in 2012. Examples of which are the webcomics <a href=\"https:\/\/www.deviantart.com\/menaria\/art\/Narcissism-774974605\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Narcissism<\/em><\/a> (2018), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.deviantart.com\/menaria\/art\/Bad-Infulence-Part-2-526893598\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Bad Influence Part 2<\/em><\/a> (2015) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.deviantart.com\/menaria\/art\/Work-585297792\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Work<\/em><\/a> (2016), all made in SFM. The software gained overwhelming favour and many artists started to import models ripped from other games or created with other software to SFM, as it was very easy to use: \u2018I personally have over 100 Gigabytes worth of downloaded models, with which I created my own pictures and comics\u2019. However, she notices that working with SFM also has important downsides:<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d88a5f3 elementor-widget elementor-widget-testimonial\" data-id=\"d88a5f3\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"testimonial.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-testimonial-wrapper\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-testimonial-content\">you usually end up limiting yourself within just one environment and trying to get recognition from a very specific and narrow group of people. However, I came to the conclusion that this is not what I should be doing if I want to do art for a living. Regardless of the switch in medium, the experience working with SFM has defined her stylistically and as an artist, \u2018till this day I am occasionally told that my non-TF2 artworks look a lot like that game\u2019.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section
